In order to use Wifi, you need to associated with one the UPS Wifi's networks :
ssid ups : captive portal authentication, most used, easier to use (no configuration required on client device), well suited for www but not secured on wireless media (not crypted), So limited network protocols allowed for customers safety.

ssid eduroam : 802.1x type network access, secured, all network protocols allowed (well, those globally allowed on UPS campus), designed for privacy concern use but client device 802.1x configuration required. Eduroam Worldwide Authentication Mobility available.

... from a Wifi covered zone and authenticate yourself thanks to UPS login and password (UPS student/staff/guest only) or thanks to your university login/password if your university is MiP-Wifi project member, http://mipwifi.univ-tlse3.fr or part of Eduroam roaming infrastructure http://www.eduroam.org
All other Wifi network is not an UPS official Wifi network and sould not be used.
In order to get your login and password (UPS student/staff/guest only), Follow the online personal account activation form. The access procedure is allowed without authentication from Wifi. In case of login or password forgot, follow the same online procedure.
Your are not UPS student/staff/guest member and you want to use Wifi...
You MUST comply with the UPS IT use deontological chart
No wireless security on ups ssid (captive portal type): not crypted on wireless media between your device and Wireless Access Point.
Beside of that, captive portal authentication procedure is crypted, you can safely authenticate.
Use secured network protocols (https, ssh, VPN...) if you need confidentiality in case of ups ssid use ; We advise you to use eduroam ssid Wifi network (802.1x type).
